This portfolio collection is 1/4 of a larger collection of fifty posters produced for the Italian Socialist Party (PSI) from 1892 to 1970. This part consists of 12 posters produced for the PSI between 1917 and 1945. This poster features an illustration of a man breaking the chains off of a boulder with a large hammer. Black text at the top of the poster reads "Italian Socialist Almanac 1920" whilst text at the bottom reads "Avanti publishing company" Avanti! was the PSI's official publication. This poster was otiginally designed in 1920 but reproduced for this collection in 1970.
