Postcard with a photograph of a banner on the front. The banner shows people around a fire, with the date "1993" underneath them. Other text on the image reads "Women's pit camp, friends of Houghton Main, Sheffield Women Against Pit Closures." The reverse of the postcard reads "women's camp banner Houghton Main Colliery, South Yorkshire. The Houghton Main Women Against pit closures camp was set up on January 13th 1993 after the Tory government announced the closure of 31 pits. The camp was one of seven women's pit camps set up to defend jobs and coalmining communities and to campaign for a sane and long-term energy policy. This postcard is produced from a design by women at the camp for Houghton Main and Sheffield Women Against Pit closures."
