Description
An A5 postcard which opens out into a card. The front features a photograph of multicoloured paper cranes. Text on the inside reads: "Photograph by Glyn Ford, March 1984 / Women's Shrine, Hiroshima Memorial. / Hand-folded paper cranes for peace / A little Japanese girl, slowly dying of te effects of the 1945 bomb on Hiroshima, made herself hundreds of bright folded paper cranes. By tradition, they express the wish for life and good health- a sort of get-well card. Her efforts caught the imagination of the Hibakusha (bomb survivors) who adopted the symbol in 1957."
