Title
I want you for U.S war machine

Date
1983

Description
A white postcard featuring a cartoon of Uncle Sam, common national personification of the federal government of the United States, in a satirical copy of the famous 'I want you for the US army' recruitment posters that were used during WWI. In the cartoon, the word army has been crossed out and replaced with 'war machine' and text underneath reads "nearest recruiting station: 10 Downing Street". This postcard was made by Julia Firth as part of the anti-war movement that protested the deployment of US Cruise Missiles in Britain.
