Description
Poster, printed by the Morning Star protesting the move towards computerisation by Rupert Murdoch's News International group. The poster shows a blue image representing a computer - a computer monitor and key board - and on the screen reads "The Sack". Above reads "Murdoch's New Technology"
This poster is related to the move by News International to open a new facility including modern computer systems. This allowed journalists to input copy directly to the printers, rather than using print workers. All print workers were fired by the group. In the following dispute, print workers tried to block the distribution of News International newspapers, which ultimately failed.
