Description
Yellow poster advertising a concert in support of Chile, presented by the Leeds Chile Solidarity Campaign.

The poster features a hand shape in the colours of the Chilean flag. The thumb is pointed with a circle near the end, giving the image a second meaning as a dove of peace. Above, in blue, reads "Concert for Chile" and below, in red, reads "Inti-illimani + Frankie Armstrong".

Inti-illimani were a Chilean band who became associated with Allende's Popular Unity government. Following the Military Coup of Pinochet, the band were unable to return to Chile, where they would risk imprisonment and likely death. They remained in Europe, where they had been touring during the Coup, and raised awareness for the plight of Chileans through concerts.

Frankie Armstrong was an English folk singer and member of the Feminist Improvising Group, a free improvising avant-garde jazz ensemble.
