Description
Poster, "El pueblo vencera" ("The People Will Win")

The poster shows a black and white photograph of Augusto Pinochet, Chilean dictator between 1973 (following the Chilean Coup) and 1990, being punched in the chin by a fist painted with the Chilean flag. The punching fist has pushed Pinochet's head off of his now decapitated body. The image of Pinochet has been edited in several ways; in the central badge of his cap a sull and crossed bones has been added, and on the lapel of his jacket a dollar-sign ($) has been added to signify the influence of the United States of America through their interventionist policies in Central and Southern America.

The poster signifies hope that the people of Chile, then under the repressive regime, would overthrow the military Junta and find freedom.
