Description
Poster, "Boycott Chilean Wine"

The poster shows an illustration of three bottles of wine. Above reads "Since Sept 11 1973… Chilean Wine Contents…" on the labels of the wine bottles read various violations of human rights undertaken by the Pinochet dictatorship, such as "All Democratic Rights Banned", "Collective Bargaining Outlawed", and "25 Concentration Camps". Beneath reads "Boycott Chilean Wine" in red letters.

Wine is a major export for Chile, and so the aim with this poster was to use the economic impact of a boycott to bring about social change in Chile. The poster was produced by the Chile Soldiarity Campaign, who led on the attempt to pressure the UK government into taking action against the dictatorship, as well as providing support to people living under the Pinochet rule.
