Description
White circular badge with text in red that reads "LESBIANS IGNITE".
One of many badges produced by the Gay Liberation Front (GLF), around 1972. The GLF was the name of a number of gay liberation groups, the first of which was formed in New York City in 1969 after the Stonewall Uprising, a catalyst for the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQIA rights in the United States. In the UK, the GLF existed between 1970 and 1973, after which is splintered into smaller groups following internal disagreements. Some members went on to form UK direct action organisation OutRage!
