The Greater London Council (GLC) established a 'Gay Working Party' in 1981 to advocate for community issues and campaign for equal rights. [These badges] were produced as part of a wider campaign to save the GLC after the 1983 Conservative manifesto pledged to abolish it, eventually doing so in 1986.
