Description
Colour photograph from a CND demonstration at RAF Fylingdales. The base in North Yorkshire is part of a missile early warning system with the Yorkshire CND stating that therefore "it could be information from this radar station that initiates a nuclear response from the US and/or the UK to a perceived threat - real or false; intended or accidental."

Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that campaigns for peace and for governments around the world to demilitarise and discard existing and new nuclear weapons programmes. An annual CND protest at Fylingdales is still held every October.
