Description
A small yellow plastic badge with a pin fastening. Text reads "Norwich united Ollerton" with an illustration of a canary and a miners' lamp. The canary is the Norwich United Football Club mascot as well as being a symbol of the mining industry. Ollerton is in Nottighamshire, where only a quarter of miners went out on strike. It was also the site where David Jones was crushed to death during a picket early on during the strike. This made it a place of great significance for the Nottighamshire miners and this badge was made when miners from Norwich came to support their organising.
