Text reads "I support the Leic. striking miners / No surrender / Dirty thirty / 1984-1985" The badge refers to the 'dirty thirty', a group of miners from Leicester who went out on strike despite the rest of the Leicester National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) branch refusing to strike due to the lack of a national ballot. The name started out as an insult but was later reclaimed by the men and their supporters.
