Description
Flyer campaigning for Namibia's independence, made by the Namibia Support Committee based in London. The front features a photograph of several Black women with placards and fists raised, and a textbox of information about Namibia's occupation by 100,000 troops from the South African military. The reverse text gives more information about the Support Committee and includes a form to join and donate.

From 1966 to 1990, Namibia was occupied by South Africa and the liberation movement was led by SWAPO (South West Africa People's Organisation). During the occupation, SWAPO’s leaders were imprisoned and there was armed fighting between the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) and the South African military. In the UK, the Namibia Support Committee was founded in 1969 to campaign and raise funds to support SWAPO. Following independence, they became the leading political party.
