Description
A badge designed to look like a traffic stop sign - a red circle with a white line across the middle. It has 'Stop Trump' written in yellow. The edge is black and yellow stripes, which look like a hazard warning sign.
Donald Trump was the Republican President of the United States from 2016-2020. During his presidency, he pursued policies around immigration like excluding migrants from Muslim majority countries, and building a 'border wall' between the US and Mexico. Many view his policies and rhetoric as empowering the far right, leading to incidents like the Charlottesville rally where white supremacists held a torch lit march while chanting racist and antisemitic slogans and violently attacking anti fascists. Trump went on to describe them as "very fine people" during a press conference. Some people were afraid that if Trump had a second term of office, it would increase far right violence against migrants, people of colour and other marginalised groups. Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, and his followers unsuccessfully attempted a coup of the US capitol on January 6 2021 in response.
