Description
Printed leaflet titled "The Balance of Sanity" with an image of scales on the cover. On one side is a Trident nuclear submarine and on the other, tipping the scale, is "NO". On the reverse is information about the Trident Postcard Campaign, and stapled to one corner is a petition postcard addressed to the Secretary of State for Defence. It is produced by Parents for Survival.
Parents for Survival are an anti-nuclear arms group. In October 1983, protesters with their children delivered 250,000 postcards to the Ministry of Defence in London to protest the UKâs decision to buy the US-made Trident nuclear weapon system. It was established in 1980 and now operates out of a Royal navy base in Clyde on the west coast of Scotland. Anti-nuclear and peace activists have continually protested against Trident since its inception.
