Peace Pledge Union
Description
Leaflet with white text on black background titled "WILL MAN SURVIVE?" with information about weapons manufacture and the case for disarmament. It was produced by the Peace Pledge Union and there is a pre-printed form to join at the bottom of the reverse side.
Founded in 1934, the Peace Pledge Union (PPU) promotes pacifism and nonviolence, educates on conscientious objection, and challenge everyday normalisation and veneration of the military. PPU distribute the white poppy each year in the run-up to Remembrance Day, as a symbol of remembrance of all victims of war, a challenge of militarism, and a commitment to peace. The poppies were first made in 1933 by the Co-operative Women's Guild, many of whom had lost family and friends in the First World War.
