Description
Leaflet titled "No New Nuclear Missiles" advertising action at USAF Upper Heyford, Portsmouth Naval Depot and Faslane Naval Base on October 15th, organised by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). The reverse contains more details about these demonstrations.

CND is an organisation that campaigns for peace and for governments around the world to demilitarise and discard existing and new nuclear weapons programmes. Faslane Peace Camp has been a continuously occupied peace camp at Faslane Naval base since 1982, run by anti-nuclear campaigners who protest the base housing Trident missiles.

The Trident nuclear programme is the UK's nuclear deterrent, and the government describes it as a means to "deter the most extreme threats to our national security and way of life". Anti-nuclear campaigners, like the CND argue that nuclear weapons shouldn't be created or used, and all existing nuclear weapons should be decommissioned and destroyed. Protesting at Faslane has varied in intensity and method over the decades, with blockades and intrusions into the base taking place alongside the camp.
