Description
A yellow printed poster with black typed text around a central image. Text reads: 'Blockade Molesworth on U.N. International Day of Peace. Tuesday September 16th! Join the blockade. Sign the petition. For full details contact Nottingham Defend Molesworth Group'. There is a central black and white illustration of four people putting up a banner on a chain link fence. The banner reads: 'For evil to triumph it is only necessary that good people do nothing'.

This poster was created by Nottingham Defend Molesworth Group to encourage people to attend a blockade of the Molesworth RAF base. These protests opposed the storage of United States Air Force cruise missiles at military bases in the UK. As well as moral and political beliefs opposing all use of missiles and war weaponry, people feared that the USA using the UK as a staging post for launching their weapons during the Cold War between the USA and USSR would lead to the UK being targeted in the event of active war between those two countries.
