Screenprinted poster, “North Paddington Women's Centre presents women's day” in blue text at the top on white. Below is a full page print of a collage of photographs of women smiling and talking. Text overlaid reads “films, video, theatre, food, music, bazaar, information stores, t-shirt printing, demonstrations, jumble, and much more! Women only.” At the bottom it advertises it is at the Factory, Chippenham Mews W9. We acknowledge the assistance of the Greater London Arts Association”.

This poster was made by Paddington Printshop, a community graphic design and print workshop in West London, co-founded by John Phillips and Pippa Smith. Between 1975-1991, the centre printed over 400 designs for left-wing community organisations. These publicised local political campaigns such as housing rights and food co-ops, to social gatherings including play days, gardening clubs, gigs and festivals. Their do-it-yourself style was part of the proto-punk ethos.
