Description
Anti-Fascist Action flyer, 1987. At the very top of the flyer is the wording "MARCH AGAINST FASCISM ON REMEMBRANCE DAY".
Beneath this are four black and white images in a square. The images at the top are a head shot of Anton Gecas titled "Gecas - Nazi war-criminal in Britain" and an image of a group congregating around a cenotaph titled "Fascists march in Britain today". Text has been added on top of these images, to look like a stamp, reading "NAZISM - Alive and well in Britain today'. The two top images are linked to the images beneath by arrows, suggesting causality. Below the image of Gecas are young people being hanged. Beneath the second image is a young Asian man covered in injuries. Text over these images reads "RACIAL VIOLENCE the result".
Below the images is the caption "DEPORT NAZIS NOT REFUGEES MARCH NOVEMBER 8TH ASSEMBLE TRAFALGAR SQ. 1pm THE FASCISTS HAVE NEVER GONE AWAY NEITHER HAVE WE".
The reverse, entitled "Why We Are Marching" has information about Nazi War criminals in Britain, Neo Nazis in Britain today, Racial Violence and Racism. At the bottom of this page is information about Anti-Fascist Action.
Anton Gecas was accused of commanding Nazi death squads involved in the murder of 32,000 civilians. He lived in Scotland until 2001.
