Description
Union of Shop Distrubitive and Allied Workers (USDAW) poster, number 8. Black and white photograph at the top of the poster, showing women protesting outside of a Woolworths. They are wearing cardboard placards around their necks with handwritten slogans including "THE WOOLWORTH GIRLS ONLY WANT THE RIGHT TO BE REPRESENTED BY A TRADE UNION". At the bottom of the poster is a purple section with the title "the UNION in Action". It then lists the ways that unions can help employees, ie "winning advances, fighting for improvements". An image of a woman, also wearing a placard around her neck runs down the right hand side of the poster. Printed into the placard the sign reads "TO BE REPRESENTED BY A TRADE UNION IS EVERY WORKER'S RIGHT WHY NOT AT WOOLWORTHS?".
