Description
National Association of Operative Plasterers emblem, about 1890. The central panels show plasterers at work and apprenticeships. These are surrounded by columns. The top of the emblem features the name of the Association and has cherub figures holding shields which outline membership benefits which include 'Comfort for the Widow and the Fatherless' and 'Support in Sickness and Old Age'.


The union was formed in 1860. In 1898, after a prolonged strike, the union became the first to achieve a national agreement on wages and conditions.
