Professional Footballers' Association banner, 1991. The edges of the banner list matters the union supports footballers with including pensions, accidents, etc. The centre panel is made up of images from footballing history including the 1966 England victory at the World Cup and the founding of the PFA in 1907.


The banner was made in 1991 by John Midgely from Chippenham Design for PHM's More Than A Game exhibition.


Set up in Manchester on 2 December 1907, the Professional Footballers' Association or PFA is the oldest trade union for sports. It cares for the welfare of players. This includes advice on injury insurance and training after footballers' playing careers.
