Description
Printed in black on white paper, this simple poster depicts a line of Asian women with placards who are standing behind a barbed wire fence. There are two lines of policemen standing behind the women. The poster is advertising a public meeting about the Grunwick strike, with speakers Mahmoud Ahmed (Secretary of the Grunwick Strike Committee), Jack Dromey (Secretary of the South East Region TUC) and Tessaduq Ahmed (Bangladesh Welfare Association), organised by the Bethnal Green and Stepney Trades Council.
The poster was designed and drawn by Dan Jones, who produced other materials for the Grunwick Strike Committee, including a painting of the strike that is currently on display in Brent Library, of which PHM has a print (NMLH.2006.25)
