Description
Leaflet on pale pink paper with purple lettering. Advertises a public meeting in support of the decriminalisation of homosexuality, 'SOCIETY AND ITS HOMOSEXUALS: WHY THE LAW MUST BE CHANGED', held on 11 November 1966.

The leaflet lists speakers: Humphry Berkeley, Alan Fitch MP and Antony Grey, as well as chairman, The Dean of Manchester the Very Reverent Alfred Jowett.

The meeting was sponsored by the North-Western Homosexual Law Reform Committee, co-founded by Allan Horsfall and by the Diocese of Manchester Board for Responsibility.

In 1965 Conservative MP Humphrey Berkeley attempted to pass a commons bill to achieve this, but lost his seat at the 1966 general election. Homosexuality was legalised in 1967 following Labour MP Leo Abse's private members bill. Antony Gray was secretary of the Homosexual Law Reform Society.
