Description
A dress made for the Rose Queen Festival in Manchester, 1938. The dress is made from blue rayon and has a collared train. A banerette was also made with the same material.

This Rose Queen dress was worn by Frances Williams. Frances was crowned Rose Queen at the Co-operative Hall, Gorton, on 23 July 1938. She was 18 years old. Her dress was later adapted and Frances wore it at her wedding on 25 April 1942 (shown in the photograph)
