This pamphlet, produced by the Fabian Society in 1977, gives a broad introduction to the political problems faced by several British governments in relation to the Falkland Islands. Britain took control of these islands in 1833 and remained in charge until 1982, when Argentina forces invaded.
Britain sent a Task Force to recapture the islands and the conflict became known as the Falkland War. It lasted from April 4th to 14th June 1982, when Argentina surrendered to Britain. Some saw the war as a failed attempt to seize a small part of the British Empire.
