Join this monthly discussion event where Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) tutor Mark Krantz will facilitate an open conversation about the talking point of the month. This is your opportunity to speak up or sit back and listen.
The topic of each discussion will be announced on PHM’s website in advance of the event.
Suitable for 16+
This month we’ll be discussing Covid-19 and independent living. Independent living is about disabled people having the opportunity to live an independent life and be fully included in society. Independence doesn’t necessarily mean doing everything yourself; independence means having choice and control over your life and how you do what you want to do.
In this discussion disabled people will be sharing their experiences of independent living and the Covid-19 pandemic; talking about what independent living is, the devastating number of people who have died in care homes, and what this reveals about living within institutions.
This event is part of Nothing About Us Without Us; a project exploring the history of disabled people’s rights and activism. For more information about this project contact PHM Programme Officer michael.powell@phm.org.uk.
