Join us in PHM’s Archive & Study Centre for a workshop hosted by Lesley Jeffries and Fransina Stradling from Hansard at Huddersfield. They will introduce a new interactive website to research Hansard, the official, substantially verbatim report of what is said in both Houses of Parliament.
Hansard is an essential tool for ensuring democratic accountability. It contains a wealth of data that provides historical background to current debates, and evidence of arguments for parliamentary decisions that affect the UK public. The Hansard at Huddersfield project aims to improve access to, and contribute new ways of searching the Hansard records.
This workshop will introduce attendees to the new website and will use examples from various case studies to show the potential of the site to enhance research into parliamentary proceedings. Anyone with an interest in Hansard as a resource for their work is welcome to attend.
