For International Mother Language Day 2026 People’s History Museum launched Banner Bingo in an additional seven languages.
Alongside English, visitors can take their pick from Arabic, Chinese, French, Persian, Polish, Spanish, and Urdu as they take part in the free Family Friendly activity at the museum.
Banner Bingo is a quest to find a series of images featured within the colourful banners that are on display throughout the museum’s galleries. You can pick up a Banner Bingo card from the welcome desk, and after completing your search there is a small prize for taking part. Two versions are available to suit both younger and older players.
Part of a programme of activities organised by Manchester City of Literature to celebrate International Mother Language Day.
The translations of Banner Bingo were provided by Peak Translations Ltd, thebigword, The Translation People and the Association of Translation Companies.
