A fun, welcoming event, from the Sortition Foundation, exploring what it takes to create a better world decent lives and democracy for all. Enjoy performances, a film showcase, an art exhibition, talks and creative activities. The day will feature inspiring voices from across Greater Manchester.
What would a people-powered Greater Manchester look like?
People across Greater Manchester have been demanding a seat at the decision-making table. This collaborative event, organised by the Greater Manchester Citizens’ Assembly Campaign, amplifies the call for a more participatory democracy in our city, asking crucial questions about what that could look like and what the impact could be for people’s lives.
The day will explore the power of Citizens Assemblies, hear from local democracy campaigns, make connections across communities and plan for how to transform Greater Manchester.
What if ordinary people were able to shape and scrutinise public decision-making on the things that affect all of us every day, like housing, transport and the cost of living?
Following in the footsteps of the region’s great changemakers, from the Chartists to the suffragettes, you are invited to come along, get creative and join this rallying call for a more people-powered future.
Everyone welcome!
