Join Over Here Zine Fest for a day of workshops, talks and stalls, with zine makers, artists, writers and activists.
This event showcases the work of creatives from the global majority; Black, Asian and People of Colour (POC). The aim is to build self-sustaining alternative models for publishing, art, activism, and collaboration in our communities. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Organised by a group of people identifying as QTIPOC (Queer, Transgender and Intersex People of Colour) from Manchester.

Learn to make a one page zine with a theme, 11.00am – 3.00pm
Theme: The power of Protest. Using the museum as inspiration, make a zine that tells why protest, striking and collective action is important.
What has it achieved in the past? Who benefits? Including examples of when it has worked.

Power Pennants with Alison Erika Forde of Two crows Studio, 11.00am – 12.00pm
Make a pennant with a message. Something you love, something you’re passionate about.
Get hands on making vibrant pennants with a big slogan. Join Alison as she shows you how to DIY a cardboard pennant, guiding you to pick the right word, font or colours to get your message across.

Letters to my Ancestors with Dal Kular, 12.30pm – 1.30pm
Through lovingly crafted creative writing prompts we’ll connect with one of our ancestors (living, in the after-living, or future. Known/unknown) and craft them a letter. Dal will then guide you on how you can continue this journey after the session.
Featuring real life letter-writing paper, envelopes and a stamp!

Zine Yourself: mini portrait zines with WingYu, 2.00pm – 3.00pm
In this playful workshop, participants will create their own mini zine using simple drawing and collage techniques. We’ll focus on self-expression through portraits — capturing identity, emotions, or imagination — and explore different mini-zine making methods with samples for inspiration.
No experience is necessary, just a willingness to experiment and have fun!
