Join us for a special Refugee Week walk through PHM’s main galleries and discover the stories of those who have sought sanctuary in the UK.
The history of Britain is one of constant migration, in and out, and the recent European ‘refugee crisis’ is not a new concept. This tour will explore historic stories of those seeking sanctuary, as well as looking at the injustices those who move to the UK continue to face and the need for everyone to stand together to address these.
Once the celebrations are over, we hope you will carry the spirit and energy of Refugee Week with you, and continue to walk alongside people on the move.
Please note that some of the stories contain descriptions of traumatic migration experiences that some visitors may find distressing. This includes seeking asylum on the basis of sexuality and lived experience of a refugee camp and the resettlement process.
