Gypsies, Roma and Travellers of Irish Heritage have a combined migration history of over a millennium with traditions of nomadism forming the foundations of their cultures. Fiercely proud of their heritage, these communities ensure that the legacy of their culture is passed on to future generations through art, music and storytelling.
This exhibition offers young people from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller of Irish Heritage communities a voice to challenge stereotypes and share expressions of their identities.
Suitable for all ages
Please note the museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
Part of PHM’s year long programme exploring migration. Following an open call for submissions, the 2020 community exhibition programme was selected by a Community Programme Team made up of people whose lives have been shaped by migration.
