Recent debates concerning women’s creative work, sexual harassment, pay gaps and gender politics have been highlighted by digital campaigns such as #MeToo and ‘Times-Up’. This Have Your Say! discussion will look at how the internet is reinvigorating a ‘fourth wave’ of feminism and the evolving relationship between feminism and popular culture.
By looking at digital activism as a means to creating change we ask how ‘hashtag feminists’ can disrupt current practices and support a more equitable future for women in music.
