Event | WEA Course: A History of Opposition to Fascism 

By studying the history of opposition to fascism in Britain, this course will inform discussions on the movements opposing racism and fascism across Europe today.

• Led by WEA tutor Mark Krantz, each session will involve a presentation of material followed by an interactive discussion.  This course will:
• examine how anti-fascists mobilised against the British Union of Fascists, and their leader Oswald Mosely in the 1930s
• examine how anti-fascists organised opposition to the National Front in the 1970s
• explore opposition to the rise of far right parties across Europe and in America today
• look into continuing campaigns against fascist parties and groups today
• include a visit to the The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre
• include a visit to PHM’s galleries
• include a visit to PHM’s Labour History Archive & Study Centre
