A wine tasting with a difference! Join the team at Open Kitchen to pair some beautiful wines with vintage savoury snacks including Wotsits & Frazzles.
A wine tasting evening with a difference! At Open Kitchen, People’s History Museum’s cafe and bar, they’re big believers in being inclusive, and wine tastings and pairing evenings can sometimes feel a little, erm… intimidating, snobby, bewildering?
So the team at Open Kitchen thought what better way to take all of the snobbery, and quite frankly the class, out of a wine tasting evening, than pairing beautiful wines with the likes of Wotsits, Frazzles, and some Monster Munch??
The principle is the same as any other wine tasting… learn about wines and how they compliment different flavours, in an evening expertly led by Open Kitchen’s good friend Nathan Fiske from C&O Wines. Join Open Kitchen as they cut through all the bull by pairing some beautiful wines with classic snacks that remind us that we’re northern.
Ticket price includes five wines paired with popular snack foods. Further drinks available to buy, and a small plates menu will be available to buy for those who need a few more carbs to soak up the plonk.
And because it’s Open Kitchen, sustainability and ethics will still be at the heart of the event. C&O Wines have selected a range of small, independent, family run or co-operative owned vineyards, and wineries that have organic or minimal intervention methods at their core.
The entire evening will be suitable for vegetarians, but some snacks may not be suitable for vegans (we can’t make Wotsits vegan, we’re just not that good). If you have any specific dietary requirements but would like to attend, just drop Open Kitchen an email at phmbookings@openkitchenmcr.co.uk and they’ll try and find snack alternatives that allow you to join in.
