Join us on this Radical Late opening for an incredible musical showcase created by female composers and songwriters from across the north.
This showcase is the culmination of an exciting artistic residency led by producer and conceptual artist Fatima Al Qadiri and curator Amal Khalaf, and a collaboration between PHM and Brighter Sound, a creative music charity based in Manchester who actively support individuals through music and act as a catalyst for change in the music industry.
During the residency some of the most exciting and innovative emerging musicians, producers, filmmakers and performance artists from in and around Greater Manchester will collaborate with Fatima and Amal. This showcase event is the culmination of a week spent interpreting and responding to the museum’s exhibition Represent! Voices 100 Years On.
This event is part of Brighter Sound’s Both Sides Now, a programme to support, inspire and showcase women in music across the north of England.
Suitable for adults and young people
Part of our year long programme exploring the past, present and future of representation, marking 100 years since the passing of the Representation of the People Act (1918) and since all men and some women won the right to vote in Britain.
