Exhibition | 2024 Banner Exhibition

Including several banners on display for the first time, the 2024 Banner Exhibition features those of trade unions of the 1900s, through to notable strikes of miners, teachers, and health workers, to more recent campaigns on migration and disability rights.

With their memorable messages and motifs, these banners are striking representations of groundbreaking moments of protest and the people united by them.

Our 2024 Banner Exhibition is the most accessible banner exhibition to take place at PHM.   A range of accessible formats have been created to enable visitors to engage with the exhibition in different ways;

• Here on the website (below) is a video of a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted version of the information on this website page, links to Large Print guides for the exhibition, along with BSL interpreted and audio narrated versions of interpretation.
• When visiting the exhibition in person you can access BSL interpreted and audio narrated versions of interpretation via QR codes on each banner label.  Printed copies of Large Print and braille transcriptions are also available.  You will also find magnifying glasses, colour overlays, ear defenders, and sensory bags.
