Join this creative workshop for some stitching, chatting, and sharing inspired by the museum’s collections.
This year marks 100 years since the 1926 General Strike – when almost two million people walked out on strike across the country. In this workshop, participants will learn more about this extraordinary act of solidarity, discuss the factors that caused it, and reflect on its legacy.
Participants will then create textiles inspired by the discussions, which will be used as part of a collective textile piece responding to the On The Line: 100 years of strikes & solidarity exhibition (until Mon 2 November 2026).
Part of PHM’s programme of activity exploring the history of strikes and solidarity.
Suitable for 12+ (under 16s must have an accompanying adult).
