Join this creative workshop for some stitching, chatting, and sharing inspired by the museum’s collections.
We will connect to UK Disability History Month (16 November – 16 December 2022), responding to the theme of Disability, Health and Well Being.
We will have an introduction to the museum’s upcoming Nothing About Us Without Us Disabled people’s activism: past, present and future exhibition from one of the exhibition’s Community Curators.
We will make a patched block or square using strips of fabric. These strips when put together make a visual representation of barriers to access that create disability.
All textile abilities welcome, suitable for ages 11+ (under 18s must have an accompanying adult).
Our accompanying resource will support you to continue making in your home setting.
Part of PHM’s co-curated programme of activity exploring the history of disabled people’s rights and activism.
