Join this creative workshop for some stitching, chatting, and sharing inspired by the museum’s collections.
This session will focus on the legacy of craft practices within women’s self-organised groups, focussing on the banners of the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp. Crafts have always been involved with campaigning and protest, particularly within women’s groups. We will be discussing how crafts have been used to communicate messages, who is crafting today, and how that legacy has changed over the years.
In response to these banners, we will explore these ideas through crafting.
All textile abilities welcome, suitable for 11+ (under 18s must have an accompanying adult).
